The Last Seat on the Bus

By Terence Anthony

There was only one seat left upon the bus, And she was sitting next to it; I said excuse me, may I sit beside you? She smiled and said, of course, please take a seat. We talked for just a little while, As the bus rolled slowly through the town; She had the most amazing smile, That simply turned my world around. And somewhere in our conversation, I knew that this would not be the end; For sometimes in a chance encounter, You meet more than a passing friend. And now I cannot imagine life, Without the girl from the last seat on the bus; For sometimes fate has a funny way, Of putting the very best things in front of us.
