Night People
By Terence Anthony
They come alive when the sun goes down,
The night people of the town;
Moving through the shadows and the light,
The night people own the night.
From the bars and from the clubs,
And the late-night coffee shops;
They drift like ghosts through city streets,
And never seem to stop.
And who are all these night people?
With their secrets and their dreams;
Living lives in the darkness,
Nothing's quite the way it seems.
They come alive when the sun goes down,
The night people of the town;
When the morning comes they disappear,
The night people were never here.
