The Ghosts of War

By Terence Anthony

The ghosts of war are walking still, Across the fields and over every hill; Through the villages and towns, Through the silence and the sounds, The ghosts of war are walking still. And we can hear them in the wind, And see them in the fading light; And feel their presence all around, Long after day has turned to night. For those who fell on foreign fields, And those who never made it home; The ghosts of war are never gone, They walk forever, never alone.
